The biggest company is "Costa Del Sol Lda", and it also has the best and most comfortable boats for sightseeing. ECO TREKKING
E c o - Trekking is a very popular sport and a way to walk here and you will find many footpaths in Madeira beside the "Levada Tracks" which are also a great attraction.
Here we can see a happy family that went along the 14 km long path from Pico Aeiro to Pico Ruivo in 3 - 4 hours. They came up to Pico Ruivo at 1862 metres above sea level, on a lovely sunny day and their only comment was "This was not so difficult".
Madeiraweb can at least say that this path is well planned and everyone who has the energy can walk it , but choose the right day and make it a whole-day excursion.

For those who dare and want to climb a mountain, we recommend that you turn to the hotel reception for further information. There are only one or two companies offering climbing on the island. Rental of Carting in Madeira will start from May 2003. Rental of Carting in Porto Santo is already available. To go cycling in Madeira is a bit difficult, but Funchal has rentals and it is alright for biking. Some company has a programme for biking over Madeira Mountain. Porto Santo is flat in the village and the surrounding area and there are stores for rentals and camping for backpacks, which makes it a pleasure for a biking holiday.

Levada walking, a big attraction in Madeira.
The most known levada is in the heart of Madeira "Queimadas" to Qaldeirão Verde in the Santana region. "Fonte Do Bispo" in the northwestern part of Madeira with Rabacal and "25 Fontes" are also well known.
